CINQUEGRANNA FAMILY

Post by cinque65 »

I am looking for family and relatives. Our Original surname was Cinquegranna. From the information that I have gathered to date:

Francisco and Carmella Cinquegranna came over from Genova Italy around 1912. They resided outside of Pittsburgh Pa, They had three sons James, David and Thomas. Francisco worked for the Carnegie family and during this time frame had done a sur name change. There are several versions of this changes 1) Granny, 2) Grainey and 3) Graney. The majority of relatives reside in and around Braddock PA outside of Pittsburgh.

James Granny - (Grandfather) married Helen and had two sons James and Nick
James Granny jr Married Marie Vogen and had three children Marie, Jo-Ann and James III.

Nick married Tina and had two children Nickie and Tony

David Grainey - I have spoken with him several years back has several sons

Thomas Grainey- married Catherine Doren and had several children, They later divorced and she moved around Silver Spring Maryland area. Both have passed.

There was a family reunion several years back organized by David which included the Shombachler (spelling not sure of) family, I remember Rose the wife.

Any information would be helpfull and I hope that this helps out with anyone else.

James Cinquegranna (Silver Spring MD.)

Hi James,

I am related to this family thru marriage. It would be thru David James Granny 1892-1950. His son David 1935-still living married my fathers sister. The parents of David James would be Francisco and Carmella Cinquegranna. Please contact me.

Thank you, Sue

hello sue, years ago there was a ''cinquegranni'' family in the scranton,pa area.

the surviors of that clan now live in tennesee. the wife of one of the family members who died. she and her two sons, both priests, have lived there for a number of years.

perhaps they may be family.

John,

Thank you for replying but they are not my family. I am trying to locate James - who lives in Silver Springs, Md. and he is the person who posted information about the Cinquegranna family. My Uncle is related to that family and I am doing research for him. I truly wish that I could get in touch with James as I do not have his part of the family in my tree.

Thanks, Sue
