Italian Birth Records

Postby marshall » 05 Jan 2008, 18:58

I'm new to this site so forgive me if I don't know the protocol.
Does anyone know how to obtain birth records for a small town in northern Italy called Bassignana? It's between Milan and Genoa.
Thanks for any help. :?

You can try sending a letter to them in italian requesting the birth records.

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Cavour 8
15042 Bassignana (AL)
if you can't write in italian here is a link with useful pre-made letters to send
italian letters

They may take a while in responding.
Looking for the surnames Mosca( Marches ), Pizzoglio (Piedmonte), Chiacchiera, Lobasso(Bari), Gallo(Malvito), Azzolina (Messina).

Hi Marshall and welcome to the forum. I tried looking up LDS films for....
Bassignana, province: Alessandria - region: Piemonte

I didn't have any luck with films. I think the only way is to follow the suggestion Chris gave you and write a letter.

If you need help post back.

I have family from Bassignana also, and someone on this board sent me this link a while back... ... o+civile++

the spelling is different...Basignana instead of Bassignana.

I have not used it yet, but hope to soon, so I can't tell you the quality or anything about them.

Good luck.
