A note on Gennaro’s 1917 WWI Draft Registration Card

Question 4:
Are you
(1) a natural-born citizen,
(2) a naturalized citizen,
(3) an alien,
(4) or have you declared your intention (specify which)

It appears he responded no to questions 1-3
Stated he had declared (declarant) his intention to naturalize
(filed his 1st papers - probably in Monroe or Seneca County)

Well, I recently found Gennaro Santaniello's naturalization record at my grandmother's house. He was naturalized in 1920. Now I'm still looking for Nicola Gigliotti's..

Hi there,

Not sure if you still have a question about this but I'm pretty sure the grandfather you're in question of is my great grandmother's (Regina Torchinello) or great grandfather's (Onorato Torchinello) father. I'm unclear as the names you've listed are of some of my relatives buried in Seneca Falls, of which I annually decorate with flowers per my grandmother's (their granddaughter) request. I'm wondering, however if perhaps this person you speak of was married to on of my grandmother's grandparents prior as she never mentioned Brasil even when I spent time there, myself.

If I can help if you're still interested, I'd be glad to.

Teresa
