Death Certificate - please help

Postby davidlatour » 28 Jan 2008, 01:16

I'm trying to order the death certificates for my g-grandparents, but I'm not sure of the exact dates that they died.

My G-grandfathers name was Frank Campaniello, born September 29th 1888 in Vieste, Italy.

My G-grandmother's name was Rose Campaniello, born October 8th 1890 in Acri, Italy.

They both resided in Worcester, MA from the time of their immigration.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've had great success with the City Clerk's office.
I sent an email first ...
Their site also has a search engine for the records
(under City Clerk)

I contacted the city clerk's office and they said just to submit the information I know. The only problem is that I have no clue when my great-grandmother died. I just know it had to have been after 1960 and presumably before 1980 considering she was born in 1890. Theres also the possibility that she died at a hospital in a nearby city rather than in Worcester. Do you think I'd be charged if i just put in an order as they suggested? Any other ideas?

David--
Since you know their birthdays, have you tried SSDI? That will give date of death.

Typically, one is charged whether or not the search is successful--but I can't speak for Worcester.

Have you tried Worcester Public Library? Try looking the family up in old telephone directories and/or obituaries and/or maybe the library has a local history section. Many do.

Good luck, Peg
