Looking for Scorpione family

Postby marbil » 14 Feb 2008, 17:30

I am not sure if I am doing this correctly, but I am looking for the Scorpione family from Ruoti.

My great-grandfather came to the US with his father, Antonio Scorpione in 1880.

How can I find out about the family????

Dear Suanj.
Yes this is the Antonio Scorpione that I am researching. I know he was married to a "Rose" and my great-grandfather Vito (Victor) arrived in the US on 14 Dec. 1880 with Antonio. Would LOVE to find baptism certificates for Vito, Josephine, Lena, Gerardo, Carmelo, and Rocco, all children of Antonio and Rose. How can I find out what church I would have to contact? This is my very first attempt to search "over seas", so please forgive me for being so unsure of how to do this.

Thanks again,
marbil

Thanks Elizabeth!
Dear marbil, why you wish the baptism acts? You can have the birthact by LDS microfilms... and normally it are also baptism note in birth acts, especially for your ancestors birth period... also you can find the church record directly , also, by LDS microfilms: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... +1678-19++
so no problem for you.
Regards, suanj
