Biff83: It was an interesting and informtive conversation between you and suanj on the Calarco Family. Yes, Joesph was part of my family. He was born 1/124/1882 and died 11/23/1970. He arrived in the US aboard the Burgundia (out of Naples) 4/14/1898 with is father Demenico and his younger brother, Francesco (my grandfather). Joseph was the son of Domenico (my great-grandfather) b. 6/15/1852 in Langandi, It.; d. 8/8/1940 in Seneca Falls, NY and Domenica (Catalano) Calarco, b. 7/7/1856 in Calanna, It.; d. 3/11/1927 in Seneca Falls, NY.
I am primarily interested in learning more about the Canadian branch, namely Charles b. 9/16/1886 in Lanagdi, It.; Vincent, Anthony, and William and families. suanj sent me information on Mary.
Thanks for your quick response, help and copy of the 1930 Census. edanna
suanj: As I tld Biff83. the cnversation between the two of you was very interesting and informative. I already have much of the information on Joseph (great-uncle) and Domenico (great-grandfather and families. What I have been missing is the information on the Canadian branch of the family. My father always said that his aunt Mary Calarco was married to a "gangster". From what I gather from your reply, it was Mary's daughter, Mary, who married into the one of the"old don's" family.
I believe that Domenico returned to the US with Anthonino, Flortunato, Guglielmo and Mary closer to 1908 that 1902 as his son Domenic was born 3/27/1904 in St. Alessio.
Thanks so much for filling in some of the gaps on the Candanian branch of the family. edanna

If you ever come upon any information on Mary's brothers, William and Charles Calarco, also believed to have immigrated to Canada, I would appreciate it if you would send it on to me.
Again, thanks for your quick responses and help. edanna
