Mike have you checked the microfilms for Trabia from the FHC? The Civil Registration Records are available from 1820-1910

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... umns=*,0,0

You should be able to find your ancestors on there.

ok..

You first need to locate the nearest Family History Center near you..use the www.familysearch.org site to help locate a center near you.

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... c_find.asp

Then view the films available for Trabia using this link

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... t_fhlc.asp

Do a place search and insert Trabia. it will give you this list..easier to read on their site though....

Choose the film or films you would like to order (BIRTHS< MARRIAGES< DEATHS) and then go to your FHC, order them, pay for them and wait 3 weeks or so for them to arrive. They will call when they come in. At that point you can make an appointment to go in and view them on a reader, and see if you can locate siblings that way. A slow process, but definitely an experience.

Don't order more than one or two films at a time unless you have alot of time on your hands. They will only keep the films for 3 weeks and then you will either need to renew them or they go back.

Hope this helps a bit. If you need to know more, let me know and I'll try to help.

Mike..don't forget to take a notebook and pencil with you and some money for either photocopying records or to purchase a cd to copy the info on. Some centers will even allow you to use a USB flash drive.

Oh, and I would bring a copy of a pedigree sheet or a family group sheet to record things on. There are several available online.

Heres one that I made up that you are welcome to use if you like:
