Yes VJ..thta is right on the nose. I will have to call my Noni and grill her about this Joseph..I dont know whos child he is, and also I am confused as to who William Merrit and Ruth are. It states Mamella (which is what my Noni called her) or Carmella was widowed, I believe she came her alone, husband must have died before they left Italy. I wonder alos where my GG Granda Floreance was during the 1910 census. We at least know now that Viglione was her maiden name. Aunt Helena Pappalardo might be very old but her memory is still good :D . I dont know how to thatnk you guys so much for your help. I also know Carmella di Toro Viglione lived to be in her 90's and only died becasue she took a spill down the steps. My Noni loved, loved, loved her they were very close!!!

VJ...
No I didnt have the death record for Angelina..I can view it when I click on the link. That must be her. And I guess that the manifest isnt corret because of the age ect. I did come across a Antoinette F Di Toro on Ancestry. Could that be my GG Grandmother Floreance?

Valarie
yes Valarie this is NO our Marianna; the italian first name on the ship's manifest was Marianna DI TORO married at... VIGLIONE ; I believe that the first name Carmela was the second first name or just a nickname... as usual in the little village.... Marianna DI TORO was widowed in the trip... so the husband died in Petrella Tifernina, no far from my town...
I'm pretty sure that the record are right and also the death record abt Angelina Valente, (great find Valarie!!) is so right abt the parent's !!!

abt Joseph Viglione... on the ship's manifest is wrote" nephew" and joining at uncle Silvio Valente... I believe that Joseph was the grandson of Marianna and not the nephew... (in italian nipote word mean nephew and also grandson), better son of a son of Marianna, because he had Viglione surname, so the father was Viglione... maybe the child was orphan... or raised by grandmother( no rare in Italy) .... if my suggestion is right...
However I'm so happy that this family came from my region... oh Petrella Tifernina is a little town near Campobasso.. some pictures of Petrella Tifernina:

Oh my suanj, I forgot you were in Molise :D !
I'm so glad we found daughter Angela's death record.
I thought you & Laura were correct on all of your assumptions
before we found that record.
I agree, I think Giuseppe is Marianna's (Carmella) grandson.
I was hoping to connect your Alessandro Sciacca to Marianna's
daughter Florence (1st husband?), but I can't find Alessandro's
correct manifests (1898, 1905). The only manifests I can
locate have destination Lawrence MA w/wife Filomena &
2 children in 1905.

Beautiful pictures of Petrella Tifernina.
Do I see 2 statues of St George? He is
the patron saint of my family's town of
Donnici (Inferiore), Cosenza :D

Hello,
Suanj thank-you so much for the beautiful pictures. It is very possible Guiseppe was her grandson. I wonder what happend to her husband and and mother and father of Guiseppe. Can I find birth records from the town they were born in? What do you suggest for the next step? I still need to find GG Grandmother Florence Di Toro. Could I also get her birth cert. some how. My Noni said Florence was married to an Irish policeman in New York and he was shot. She remarried Jim Vito. Is there a way you could resend me Angelinas death record so I can view it?

I believe that from this data will be possible to know more by LDS microfilms
Italy, Campobasso, Petrella Tifernina - Civil registration

Registri dello stato civile, 1809-1910 Petrella Tifernina (Campobasso). Ufficio dello stato civile

www.familysearch.org/E...umns=*,0,0

you can know the birthdate of Marianna/carmela DI TORO, the marriage and the children data....
best regards, suanj
I already suggested you .. this is the better way... you know if Florence married to irish policemen in Schenectady town or in another town?
regards, suanj

I don't know if they married in Schenectady, but I do know that is where they lived for the whole time they were in New York. When I say they I mean Carmela, Floreance, Angelina. Then they all moved to Alameda County, that is where my Noni was born

ok... you must find the birthdate of Florence, and after, by LDS microfilms you can know the italian first name; because I'm pretty sure that the italian first name was no Florence.... she changed.. sure... and having this data, maybe the search can to continue for to find her first marriage.... also finding the marriage act with james Vito, maybe can be helful... maybe she is in the second marriage act with irish surname.... regards, suanj
