Finding Paula's Parents

Postby bob2682 » 24 Mar 2008, 01:39

Hi,

I just found the names of my great-great grandparents in my great-grandmother's bible, but I'm not having any luck with any other details (where they are from, etc). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

-My great-grandmother is Paula DiGregorio, born Paola Rizzo.
-Her parents are listed as Michael Rizzo and Pasqusa Perrone.
-Paola was born in 1899, social security #095-18-2617.
-Paola immigrated from Italy in 1920, but I don't know if her parents immigrated also.
-When Paola moved to the U.S., she lived in Brooklyn and eventually moved to Florida.
-If Michael and Pasqusa immigrated, I believe they would have lived in Brooklyn. If they didn't, I believe that they would have lived in Sicily, possibly near Castellammare del Golfo and/or Palermo.

Thanks!

Bob

You're right - that's Paula and her husband Leonardo.

Looks like there isn't any information about her parents though.

Hi Bob, I don't know if this record could be abt your Paola RIZZO, but I believe of yes:

New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957

Estimated Birth Year: abt 1899
Age: 3
Ethnicity/Race/Nationality: Italian

Search Ship Database: Search the Massilia in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Line: 14

Microfilm Roll: T715_274
Page Number: 34

in travel with:
Pasqualina PERRONE mother
Matteo RIZZO son

Francesca " daughter
Paola " daughter

all joining at Michele RIZZO husband/father in 240 Elizabeth st, New York, NY
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/2065 ... olabu3.jpg

anther interesting record:
First Name: Michele
Last Name: Rizzo
Ethnicity: Italian
Last Place of Residence: Castellomore
Date of Arrival: May 17, 1901
Age at Arrival: 46y Gender: M Marital Status: M

in travel with Giuseppa Rizzo age 17, daughter, and both joining at Pasquale BROGNA brother in law in 240 Elizabet st, New York, NY
