BERNARDO family help needed

Post by jennym »

Hello all,
back in September 2007 I first posted for help with locating my Bernardo family. I have had no luck so am reposting.
Only clues I have are from UK census:
1861 census: Alfred Bremando,17,unmarried servant from Preuben,Prussia Enerwisk/Enerwick living in Westminster,London.
1871 census: Alfred Ranardo,Head, born 1841,Rovinia,Heaby (Italy mistranscribed),Joiner,Born Preuben, living in Hackney.
1881 census: Alfred Bernardo, 45, Hawker,Italian,British Subject,living in Islington.
1891 census: Alfred Barnardo,head,widow,62,Chaff Cutter & Carpet Beater,born ITA,living in Islington.
1901 census: Alfred Bernards,85,Vegetable Hawker, born Italy,Italian Subject, living in Islington.

Alfred married Ellen Tott in St Peters Italian Church,Clerkenwell,London 13 June 1870, shown on marriage cert as Alfred Bernarde 27yrs,occup Ice Cream Maker no name given for his father. Witnessed by John Sterlini an Italian from Burdo F an Confectioner. Alfred was Godparent to one of Sterlini's children at St Peter Italian Church where he was recorded as Alfred Benati. Alfred died 1910 buried West Ham.

Suanj offered the possible location of Rovigno which was under Prussian power at one time. I have searched the records for baptism for Rovigno via LDS but no luck any other ideas much appreciated I'm at a complete dead end for Alfred.
Thanks
Jenny
