Tried all the different variations of Vincenzo's surname with no luck.
No trace of her after she arrived at Ellis Island in 1914.
No trace on the 1920 census for Virginia Ferla.
Tried looking at all the Virginia's in the 1920 census, no-one seemed to match.
Tried her uncle on the census, different spellings, no near matches!
Tried the Pittsburgh website, no joy.
Sent a cheque and letter to the Allegany County: they sent a refund because they could not find her marriage records.
Thought she may have returned to Glasgow.
Her brother Paolo Ferla came to Glasgow 1900. He applied for Citizenship 1927. On his forms, he states he has a sister in USA, in 1927, so presume it was Virginia, still in the USA.
All advice welcome!
Many thanks,
Liz Ferla
