LoSchiavo and D'Albora families

Postby plane1111 » 13 May 2008, 19:42

Hi Everybody,
I am trying to find info on my grandfather's family. His name was Antonio Loschiavo and was born about 1859 to Giovanni(B-1833) and Maria Francesca D'Albora Loschiavo. They lived in the town of Lingua on the Island of Salina. Besides Antonio, there was another son named Gregorio, born about 1862. Gregorio married, Bartola Costa, born abt 1880, married 1908.
I am new to this site, but I'm hoping someone has info on this family. Thanks Patricia

I have access to many records from the Aeolian Islands. I've researched those surnames for others. Please contact me at italiandocuments@gmail.com

In order to avoid having to pay anyone for any documents send form letter in Italian which is available to you on the website listed below:
www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/it ... tters.html

The form letter in italian is to two request to documents. One for your grandfather and one for his brother and the document to request is the Certificato di Stato di Famiglia which will contain the date and place of each family member including their spouses. Lingua is a "frazione" of the town of Santa Marina Salina 98050.

Send the letters to the UFFICIO DI STATO CIVILE,
COMUNE DI SANTA MARINA SALINA
98050,(ME) Sicily, Italy

The service is free of charge. =Peter=

Requests to the Stato Civile are free, but keep several things in mind:
1. Sometimes you never get a reply.
2. If you get a reply, it will be an extract or abstract, which is a secondary document.
3. A paid researcher will get a copy of the original birth/death/marriage record, which is a primary document. It contains more information than abstract and in any research situation, genealogy or otherwise, primary documents are always the best ones to obtain.
