Correct Manifest?

Postby Shrugs05 » 01 Jun 2008, 01:32

Hello again,

I am researching my great-grandparents on my mother's mother side of the family now. I am looking for Nick Altiere AKA Nicola Altieri. I searched on Ellis Island and found the following manifest:
First Name: Nicola
Last Name: Altieri
Ethnicity: Italy
Last Place of Residence: Colobraro, Potensa
Date of Arrival: Nov 11, 1907
Age at Arrival: 22y Gender: M Marital Status: M
Ship of Travel: Florida
Port of Departure: Naples
Manifest Line Number: 0028

My GGF (Nick Altiere) was born on 3/7/1885 and the results above match the age my GGF would be. So, would this be my GGF? I found other records with Nicola Altieri but the ages were either high or low for 1885. My family and I believe there was an "i" on the end but somehow changed to an "e." He resided and died (8/12/1977) in Youngstown, Ohio. Additionally, I could not find anything for Nicola Altiere or Nick Altiere.

Secondly, my GGM, Nancy Altiere (3/25/1889-1/19/1970), I found only the death record but could not find anything as immigration wise. We, my family, believe her maiden name was Vicchiotti(sp?). We're not certain for sure.

Some of the children my GGF and GGM had were the following:
James, Anthony, Joseph, Philomena, Domonic, Mary, Fredrick, Rosie, and Helen. This is all the info I know as of now. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
