Please help me find Derosse/dirosse

There are so many different ways this name cam be spelled and so many names it could have originated from! This is what i have:

Eleanor Deross is my ggrandma, daughter of: William DeRosse (Italy 1886) & Nellie (???) Hansen (Norway 1890). I think William is the son of Carmine Dirosse & Maria DiRosse and they all came from italy in 1888, but i cannot find their names on any manifests... Any help is greatly appreciated as i have been stuck for about 6 months! Thanks so much!

Thanks so much VJ. I have an ancestry.com account, but i'm still finding it hard to find what i need. I didn't look close enought at the 1910 census that i found- thanks so much for pointing that out to me!! These are the only names that fit the information that i have. I still can't find any records of their immigration. Any ideas? Thanks again!!

It's possible that sons Joseph (Giuseppe?) & William (Guglielmo?)
arrived with their mother.

If that's what happened, she would probably be traveling under her maiden name.
Her children (there may be more) could be listed as
'figlio' (son) Joseph (Giuseppe?) & figlio William (Guglielmo?)
without any reference to their father's name.

Sometimes searching ancestry with only first names with approximate
birth years and exact location helps.

Have you looked for any of the families records in NYC, they may
contain a few more clues
