Arbereshe names

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Postby Melona75 » 06 Feb 2011, 20:52

I'm researching Arbereshe names both surname and given names. I am trying to put together a list of Arbereshe names and the Albanian origin it was derived from.
Ex. Zef=Giuseppe
Ex. Skiro'=Schiro'

I havn't found an online source with several names on it. Does anyone know of a good site? Or can anyone post some other names? I apprecite all and any info.

Thanks,
Melanie
