Old Photos

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Old Photos

Postby Bosetti » 28 Aug 2012, 23:52

I wonder if there is any interest in old photos here ? We found my fatherinlaw's, old photobook, including many picturs from the WorldWar II in Africa and Ethiopia, where he attended. There are also several images of Alpinis, many have no name on the backside, but som of them have. Do you want me to put them in here on the Board, maybe there's your ancestrys on the pictures :)

Personally, I'd love to see the ones in WWII Africa. My father was also there, but we don't have pictures.

Amazing photos!
These photos need to be preserved for all time through a museum or Italian historical society!
Thank you Bosetti for sharing them with us.

Thank you for posting these amazing photos Bosetti. They are so interesting and I agree with the previous poster they should definitely be preserved and placed somewhere like a museum where they will be valued. I would love to see any more you have - provided you have the time to scan and post. I am particularly interested in WWII Africa (North and South). Thank you again, Angela.
