Traiano Boccalini

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

I didn't think you believed me....

But let me say congratulations.... :!: and welcome to the forum.

I can't help you in anyway... but I can certainly lend an ear!!

How were you able to research back to 1556... for all we know.. you may have even gone further...

I would love to hear about your research! What film years were available for Loreto? What other sources did you use to go back this far?

What about reading Latin... ?

I've gone as far back as 1725 and there are still a few rolls left to research from...

I created a ged file of my parents ancestral town working with film 1865 and back... once you get started... it's hard to stop....

I thought it would be best to include everyone from the film notes... and it really paid off...

Look forward to hearing from you...

Maria :P

Hi Maria,
Thanks for your welcome :-)

The only sites that I've come across were :

www.filosofia.unina.it

www.culturitalia.uibk.ac.at/atlante/atl ... calini.htm

and his "Ragguagli di Parmasso" (Advertisements from Parnassus)

No I don't read latin, but I understand Spanish and some italian.
I haven't come across any film notes that far back - so you are doing very well. My interest in him stems from the fact that I'm still trying to ascertain whether Boccalini got changed to Bocallini and whether there is any relation.

If I find anything else, I'll let you know.
Jess :-)
