History of Montemiletto or San Nicola Manfredi?

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

The history page of the official town website of San Nicola Manfredi is here:
http://www.sannicolamanfredi.com/lastoria.htm
Open it in a translating service here:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/
Montemiletto is here:
http://www.comune.montemiletto.av.it/

It is a little difficult to read translated but you will understand most of it.
