Census Records for Libero and Pasquale Gianfagna

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Census Records for Libero and Pasquale Gianfagna

Postby JohnArmellino » 13 Mar 2008, 22:52

I'm looking for census records for Libero Gianfagna and/or Pasquale Gianfagna. Libero Gianfagna was born 23 MAY 1883 in Campobasso, son of Angelo Gianfagna (b. 07 DEC 1841 in CB) and Maria Luisa Pietrunti (b. 17 SEP 1845 in CB). He arrived at Ellis Island on 21 April 1907 on the steamship Liguria and was going to his brother Pasquale Gianfagna in Cleveland. He married Vittoria Cacciola [spelling uncertain – possibly Crosciolla] on 11 NOV 1911 in Cleveland. They had a son Angelo, who married Leona Alice Cooper. I'm having trouble finding Libero Gianfagna and/or Pasquale Gianfagna in the 1910, 1920, or 1930 US census records.

Thank you vj. Libero and Vittoria are the great grandparents of my 5C and she was having some problem locating the family in the census records. I suggested posting here because I knew someone would come through - and you did!

Thanks so much for helping find Libero Gianfagna in the 1920 and 1930 Ohio census and the WWI card reg. I had been looking everywhere, but I think the spelling was what threw me off, is why I never found him. This is not my ancestry (Gianfagna) but my sister-in-law's and I've been researching her family ancestry for her off and on and she's enjoying the info that I find for her. I do have another question on Libero and his brother Pasquale Gianfagna.
Libero states on the passenger record that he was going to his brother, Pasquale Gianfagna's house in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co Ohio. Libero arrived in NY April 1907, so Libero and Pasquale Gianfagna should be listed in the 1910 US census, but where? I also haven't found Pasquale in the US census either and I know he was in the US. Thanks a bunch! :D
