help needed to translate birth certificate...

Postby Gerty » 17 Feb 2009, 23:01

Could anyone please help me translate a birth certificate?

I have scanned the document and attached it rather then transcribing it as I was afraid I may not get the correct wording.

In particular I would be grateful to be advised of the Commune Silvio Bacciarelli was born in and any other important information as this is likely to provide useful to tracing other family members and records.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The name of the Comune is not reported. The text is:
Si certifica che Bacciarelli Silvio [figlio] di Pasquale e di Mazza Angelina nacque il dì 17 Giugno 1901.
Si rilascia il presente in carta libera e gratis da valere per uso scuola elementare fuori Comune.

Father: Pasquale Bacciarelli
Mother: Angelina Mazza
Son: Silvio Bacciarelli born 17th June 1901
Use: enrolment at the primary school
