Birthdate or recording date?

Postby borderline » 04 Apr 2009, 18:50

So on the birth records, which are recorded in order during the year, is the date usually the date of recording the birth, or is it the actual birth date? What is the convention?

On civil records, the date at the top of the record is, in fact, the date of recording. The actual birth date is usually indicated within the body of the record.
