Postby TomG » 18 Jun 2009, 01:54

Thanks for the translation of the Latin names. I have several other names for which I'd like the Italian translation.

They are:
Franciscus
Ferdinandus
Jacobus
Julius Amadeus
Aloysius
Aloysius Maria Leopoldus
Constantinus
Angelus
Coeles
Bartholomeus
Julianus
Raymondus
Oliva Mithildes
Lucius Vitalis
Massimiliano
Tranquillus

As Livio says, i think that Coeles can be translated with Celeste, but this is what a latin dictionary says about Coeles: http://66.71.182.1/dizionario-latino.ph ... md=ff&v=no
Just a note: i point out that you make progress in latin, isn't it?

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have a source for translating the names, or do you just know them from experience? I hate to keep asking for translations if I can find them myself somewhere. I've been able to do a few where I know the family member's Italian name, but some had me stumped.
