This is part of a translation of a birth certificate. I was wondering if there is a mistake in gender, or if there is a reason that one sentence uses the feminine (la mia) and the other sentence uses the masculine (il mio). The clerk, in this case, is a woman. Please advise me on what would be correct. Thank you!

its ok. only a little mistake : not giurmamento but giuramento
I'm searching lost relatives and descendant of my greatgrandfather Vincenzo Genualdi (or Gennaldi or Genuardi) and my greatgrandmother Concetta Davola (their sons: Angela, Carmela, Antonio, Bartolomeo, Ernesto, Simone, Riccardo, Maria) went in Chicago,Ill., and New Orleans, in 1880-1920 from Sicily. Other family related : Jacobucci or Jacopucci (from Central Italy).
Dear Cowry shells its grammar!!
LA MIA is based upon the word giurisdizione which is feminine while IL MIO is based upon the the word giuramento which is masculine... to keep this sweet and simple. =Peter=
Dear Coweryshells i have been obliged by she who must be obeyed that my explanation is horrific.....and needs be corrected.
In Romance languages, based upon Latin, nouns have gender either masculine or feminine, singular and plural (il mio libro and i miei libri and mia casa and le mie case) Adjectives must agree in gender with the nouns both singular and plural. Hope this helps you even further. =Peter=
My phi beta kappa former Latin & Spanish teacher spouse is she who must be obeyed. In additon to that I have to be ever mindful of aircraft carriers, ships of all sizes and particularly tanks crossing the highway I am driving upon!!!!!!!!but she does cook well and lets me shower first. =Peter=
