I just recieved this record from Citta di Castello for my great grandfathers birth. I am so excited!!! Can I please ask for your assistance in translating this record for me
I had to make the record into four images. The writing on the record was very light and hard to read from far.
dragoni wrote:the birth record identifies that Egidio Umberto Domenico was born August 1, 1889 to Giuseppe Signoretti aged 33, son of Giuseppe, married to Eugenia Serroni.
When Egidio Umberto Domenico was born, his parents, Giuseppe and Eugenia Serroni were not married.
The left annotation states that they married on Dec 18, 1889, in Città di Castello, and in the same time they recognized Egidio as their legitimate son.
Dragoni ~ Thank you, I did not know his fathers name was also Giuseppe!!
Livio Moreno ~ Thank you so much for your translation That is so interesting to know!!
I was so curious what that side annotation read.
Does the other side of the document state where he was born in Citta di Castello or who was there when he was born, or even what time he was born? I thought I read a couple of names in the handwriting. Thanks so much for your time and help

Egidio was born at 10:00 am in Fraccano which is a hamlet (frazione) of Città di Castello.
The witnesses were Angiolo Spapperi, age 40, day laborer and Giuseppe Donati, age 40, day laborer.
The document was signed by the Official and only by witness Spapperi (who signs Angelo instead of Angiolo), since the others Were illiterate.
I am so thankful that you translated this birth record for me. I was curious about the birthdate. Egidio always went by the birthdate of 1 sept 1889 so when I thought I had read agosto I was confused.
It is so exciting to know what time and where and who was there. You have truly made my day!!
My family and I did not know anything about Egidio (my g-grandfather)and his family (Serroni's and Signoretti's) so this information is wonderful!!!
Is there anything else on the birth record about Eugenia Serroni? Or the birth?
I would love to find family still living in Citta di Castello.
