Provincia Di Calabria Citeriore

Postby VaDeb » 10 Feb 2004, 23:12

The titile page for the Amantea Italy birth records I have been working with reads:

Provincia Di Calabria Citeriore

Translation:
Province of Calabria - What does Citeriore mean? This word is not in my dictionary. Can anyone (I'm sure Suanj knows) explain what this means?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Suanj. I should have thought more about the historical changes of the region. Thanks for the information.
