again, from Ancestry.com, Ilario's child's births in RI:

Rhode Island Births, 1636-1930
about Andrea Sorbo
Name: Andrea Sorbo
Parent 1: Elario Sorbo
Parent 2: Elesa Sorbo
Birth Date: 29 Sep 1912

and maybe Romilda, the first child? Don't know if it was her for sure becase her parents names are different :?

Rhode Island Births, 1636-1930
about Romilda Sorbo
Name: Romilda Sorbo
Parent 1: Luigi Sorbo
Parent 2: Francesca Sorbo

I believe the others child (Americo and Laura) were born in Massachusetts....

Laura, THANK YOU! This information is fantastic...I so miss my Ancestry membership! I do think these are the same family. I just spoke with a newly discovered cousin in California and he told me that Ilario did indeed go by James and died at a young age (sounded like heart attack or stroke). I also remember seeing a California death record for an Americo James Sorbo, whose mother's maiden name was Imondi. Based on what you've found, and Italian naming traditions (very strongly followed in my ancestry), I think this is indeed the solution to the mystery! Thank you so much!!
