I have what I believe are the military discharge records for Henri Castain. It is 4 pages, and each had to be scanned in 2 parts (over-sized document). Half of page 3 and all of page 4 is printed text (as opposed to fill-in-the-blanks sections). I know it is a lot, but it would be great if I could get a translation of the complete document.

4a/4b
Duties and powers of the miltary on leave
(these are the some things to do during the leave like to remembar that you'll always be a military and the Army can always recall you. Are these important for your research? The second part is about the duties of the military on leave in case of army recall. If these informations are important for you i'll """""translate""""" but these are a lot of duties like that of the us Army). Ihope to be helpful for you

this is not only a discharge paper, I guess it is also a military record.

Re: Military discharge record needs translation
Wow! Thanks, Andrea.
It looks like he was recruited 17 Dec. 1932 and started his service 6 Mar 1933. But I am confused as to the meaning of the 1934 and thee 1938 dates. Is one of them a discharge date? Was he discharged in 1934, then recalled in 1938? Or are both simply a record of 2 times he was paid for travel costs?
Anybody have any ideas on how to interpret this information?

Re: Military discharge record needs translation
ok.. he started his military service the 6 march 1933 'till the august 1934. He was discharged forever but he was called again the 10 june 1938 untill 14 june 1938 only for updating of military guns and technics. This was usual in the Italian Army during the 20s\30s and untill the second world war.
So he was paied two times for travel costs.
Bye

Re: Military discharge record needs translation
That makes sense. I wasn't sure what the usual practice was during those years.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
