Earlier I was trying to find the correct marriage documents for Joseph Milazzo and a Frances Destefano. Their daughter was Bernice Milazzo. When everyone came to the US, somehow Milazzo was changed to Miller. (For the record, I know I have the correct Miller's because the widow Francis was living with her daughter Bernice in the 1920 census). According to Francis Miller's death record, her parents names were:
Father's Name: Malo Jeffres
Mother's Name: Francis Connereila
Clearly a complete butchering of all names. Bernice Milazzo's death record listed her father as "Joe Mallazza" and her mother as "Francis Destfina", her other sisters listed variations of the last name as destafano or unknown.
I have since found what I think is her sister, Sarah Milazzo (married name Alesci)'s birth record but could use some help confirming. A 1910 census listed Sarah as Saveria and her birth year as 1881. Her death record listed her birth date as May 3.
Do you think this record is her? And, if so, what are her parent's names?
Perhaps another angle to find out about Bernice Milazzo

Re: Perhaps another angle to find out about Bernice Milazzo
Has anyone been able to determine if the link above is Saveria Milazzo?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi Christina!
You may want to make the link to your document a little larger
(I'm looking forward to the translation too)

It looks to me like the infant is a male. The name looks like "Xavierius" which is male and the word "infantum" is also used.

This lists the birth date as 2 May 1881. The father is Giuseppe and the mother is Francesca but I cannot figure out the last name

I found in a Bisacquino Baptism's index ( 1872-1878) a Bernarda Milazzo daughter of Giuseppe and Francesca

in adding:
was baptized in the 19 april 1877 in Bisacquino, daughter of Giuseppe Milazzo and Francesca Lanza

in adding:
the Bernarda Milazzo above mentioned in Bisacquino Baptism's index ( 1872-1878) daughter of Giuseppe and FrancescaHello Carmine -
Bernice traveled with her parents, for sure. Siblings, I am sure she traveled with, but I do not know their names.
I have been unable to find any baptismal record for Bernice or siblings in Bisacquino; but her naturalization papers state that is her place of birth. The papers also lists her birth date as 18 Apr 1875, making her approximately 5 or 6 when they came over.
She told the story that the registrar couldn't understand her, so her name was listed as Bernice Miller but on her naturalization papers she listed Bernice Milazzo as the name that she entered the country under.
It's definitely convoluted. Thanks for your help.

Hi vj and Christina
Don't know if you need an English version of Luca's translation...
Probably not, since the child is a male...
But here it is...
The same day (May 2, 1881)
I, Nicola Saladino priest and sacremental chaplain of this parish church of Bisaquino, at this same church baptized a male infant born today about the ninth hour to married couple of this parish Giuseppe (no last name given) and Francesca, parents unknown, commonly called Cimino, whose name was given Saverio. Godmother was Saveria Lanza wife of Gaetano Milazzo of this parish of Bisaquino.
