The images are small, and become blurred when enlarged.

Can you upload them to www.imageshack.com for us to view? It might make it clearer...

Hello Anton...

This appears to me to be a cancellation of a consent to marry that was given by Catterina Pirata (sp?), widow of Dacomo, for her son Giovanni Dacomo to marry Luisa Girott of France.

It is dated 20 May 1884 ...

This would NOT be a cancellation of the marriage, just the mother's consent...my best guess...

Others will view and offer more detail...

Tessa, questo è un consenso dato dalla vedova Dacomo al figlio Giovanni per il matrimonio. La parola ANNULLATO si riferisce al bollo (o tassa) che necessitava per quel tipo di documento.

Grazie Luca.

Hello Anton :-)

Luca has graciously explained that the "cancellation" was for the stamp.

This IS the consent to marry, given by the Widow Dacomo for her son John to marry Luisa Girott.

Sorry for the confusion

Translation of the Consent to marry...dated 20 May 1884

Consent and authorization presented by Mrs. Catterina Pirala widow Dacomo to be made for her son Giovanni Dacomo to enter a contract for marriage to Signorina Luisa Girott..

Next section is the identification of the official, date, and naming of the witnesses: Garoni Costantino, and Giuseppe Delusi.

Last line page one and following:
It is personally stated by Catterina Pirala daughter of deceased Maurizio, widow of Francesco Dacomo, born in Alzo (lago d'orta) and residing in Roncaccia, a village of the town of Bee, a caregiver/domestic, with the most heartfelt consent that her own son Giovanni Dacomo, son of deceased Francesco, make a legitimate marriage with young Luisa Girott, daughter of Ferdinando, and of Agostina Gentat, residing in Noirron, France.

Rest to follow.

It goes on to explain that the official asked if she could sign, and she stated that she could not because she could not write. The official states that he personally heard her consent in a understandable voice, and it was confirmed by the witnesses who signed the document below with him. He confirmed that this was what she wanted.
He then states that the act of consent was entered in the file.
Witness signatures and official's signature follow.
