Hello :-)

Any chance you can rescan and upload to an image sharing site to give us a more readable copy? The image here blurs toward the bottom and the edges are cut off...

I can tell you that the date of the document is 6 December 1874...

The declarant who appeared at the town hall looks to read "Santa Maria Emmidio (sp?)" but not sure of the last name as it becomes distorted...

What I can read so far-

Dec 6, 1874 at 10 A.M. in the town hall of Raddusa, Province of Catania

declarant-Erminidio Santa Maria of deceased Eustachio, age 40, occupation ?

his wife-Maria (last name is hard to figure out-Smergani (no such name in town; first letter may not be an S)

infant's name: Rosario Santa Maria -definitely masculine infant

The surname of the father and infant is Santamaria (but it appears as two words in the document).

It's not hard to do...

You can upload an image to an image-sharing site such as
www.imageshack.com
Click "Media Upload"
Click on "browse" and open your image
Click on "upload"
Then Copy the "Direct Link Code" which you will Paste into your post here.

We will then be able to click on the link to view AND enlarge your document.
