Yes, after I posted, I realized what you were referring to. I'm familiar with the marriage notations having a # cited.

Kinda figured you didn't miss the number of the BR... :-D

MYSTERY SOLVED

I was able to find the marriage by using the date. It looks like Garitta

He was born in Capua of "incerti genitori"-uncertain parentage

Oddly the surname Garitta appears to be associated with various Sicilian towns if you look at Ellis Island passenger lists.

Anyway, I am glad you found the document and solved the mystery. T and I were really off base on this one.

Part of the problem was that we were looking for a surname that we knew existed in the town. If he was of uncertain parentage, his surname was probably the invention of some town official.

Anyway, I'm happy you were able to find the document, Jim.
