need some help reading a couple words
The writing is really hard to read in this death record. I need some verification/help with my translation of it.
Here's what I can read:
the dead person is Basileo Volini who was 87 years old, (segretario comunale?), residing in Castelmezzano, born in Castelmezzano, of (the late) Ezzuebiello?, cac?ssitto?, domiciled in Castelmezzano and of Antonia Carbone, housewife, domiciled in Castelmezzano, widow of the late Giassinta Beneventi.
Any help with his father's name and profession and if I'm correct with Basileo's profession would be greatly appreciated

Re: need some help reading a couple words
Basileo was a town secretary
the correct spelling of Giassinta is Giacinta. She was living in Castelmezzano when she was alive (domiciliata in vita in Castelmezzano)
not sure about this but his profession may be campista-which I think is a word used for the occupation "field worker."

Re: need some help reading a couple words
Yea looks like it's Giacinta in this document, in another document it looked like her name was Giassinta but that does look more correct. Have any idea about his father?
Re: need some help reading a couple words
have to correct Giacinta to Giacinto since the name is male in the record
I am trying to figure out the father's name. I know there was a name EUSEBIO: Italian, Portuguese and Spanish form of Latin Eusebius, meaning "pious."
I am wondering if the name in the record is a variation of the name Eusebio. Have never seen the name in the record before.
the iello would be the diminutive meaning little

Re: need some help reading a couple words
His dad would have been born in like the 1770's, so it's a really oldschool name whatever it is. It looks to me like something related to Ezekiel?

Re: need some help reading a couple words
Ezechiele or Ezechiello would be Ezekiel
Re: need some help reading a couple words
Possibly
Ezechiele
Deriva dall’ebraico Jechezq’èl e significa «forte con l’aiuto di Dio». L’onomastico per antica tradizione si festeggia in ricordo di San Ezechiele, il terzo dei quattro profeti maggiori, il 10 aprile.

Re: need some help reading a couple words
The second letter looks more like an X to me than a Z
That's okay, T. Not sure that is the name in the document though unless it is a dialectal spelling????

And I thought it looked like "Ezz..."

Re: need some help reading a couple words
On the Italian search engine virgilio.it, I see the following spelling, which should coincide with the handwriting in the record.
Ezzechiello
T,
any other ideas on the father's profession? I am calling it quits for this evening.

Re: need some help reading a couple words
The name is Ezzecchiello (with 2 c's). I was looking around other death records around that timeframe in the town and it was listed in a few of them.... guess that name went out of existence a long time ago....
