help with death record from Terrasini, Sicily

Post by nuke126 »

hello, I am attempting to understand a parish death record from Terrasini, Sicily from 1750. It is possibly for my GGGGGGG grandfather.

after the date it says in latin:
"Bartholomeus Fronteri a Panormo habitato Terrasini..."

My family on the Fronteri line has always lived in Terrasini up until this. my question is, what is the "a" between his name and "Panormo". Does the "a" mean "from" or mean that he was born in "Panormo"? And is Panormo indicating the city of Palermo?

Here is the document below, please take a look and help me make sense of it. (click on the thumbnail, it will open in another page, you can also zoom in from that site)

Thanks.

Bartholomeus Fronteri a Panormo habitator Terrasinis means that Bartolomeo was born in Palermo but lived in Terrasini.
He was son of another Bartolomeo and Giovanna and he was 60 years old. His body was buried in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie.
