pages 5 and 6 of processetti

Post by bkworm10 »

Hi, these are pages 5 and 6. They appear to be Maria's birth act and baptism. From what I can guess, she is the daughter of Domenico Filippo and Rosa Lacovara. She seems to be born in December, 1840? However, I cannot tell what Maria's middle name is. Is there any other information - like date of birth, occupation, street address, church, date of baptism, etc... that I'm not able to translate, because I don't know Italian?

Thanks, A.

Maria's middle name looks like "Felicia"
She was born the 5th of December to Domenico Filippo and to Rosa Lacovara
She was baptized on 7th of December.
Time of birth was 11 PM.
Yes, the year is 1840 :-)

The notation at the bottom of page 2 indicates that a copy of the birth act was provided for the marriage of Maria...
Dated 30 August 1872.

No parents listed for Rosa, but not unusual :-)
Rosa was also a peasant farmer (occupation "come sopra" - as above)

It was on the 5th day of December that the child was born...not the "same as above" which is the date of the record, 7 December 1840 :-)

Hey Marty :-D

You practicing handwriting deciphering? ;-)

The towns look like Case Nuove for Leonardo
and Le piazze for Rocco...

There is a Case Nuove in the comune of Atella, Potenza, Basilicata; but the only Lepiazze I could find is in Siena, Tuscany :-(
