3 more pages of processetti
3 more pages of processetti
Here are the last 3 pages of the processetti. I must have forgotten to copy 2 pages at the FHC as I have duplicates of 2 pages. So I will go back next week and get the rest. This first one looks like a death act of whom, I don't know (maybe Maria's previous husband, if she had one?):

This is the second page of the death act (even though I clicked on direct link, it won't let me zoom, I don't know why):

This appears to be the marriage record and is the final page:

(This won't let me zoom either - strange).
Thanks, A.

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
first image is the extract of the death record of Francesco Belmonte, husband of Maria Filippo. The record is an extract from the acts of death for the year 1871, number of record 111. Dated Oct 10, 1871 at 3 P.M. in the town hall (of Accettura). Franceesco died on the 9th of the month at 4 a.m. and was 70 years old. He had been born and was living in Accettura. He was the husband of Maria Filippo and the son of deceased Donato (Belmonte) and deceased ? (there is a blank where his mother's name should be, and so it is not given in the record).
Informants on the death record were Gennaro Loscalzo of deceased Giuliano, age 60, and Domenico Pedano, age 56, both contadini (peasant farmers) in the town

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
second image just states that the death record is an extract which conforms to the original and that it is for use for the matrimony and is written on free paper
the third image is a certificate of the following publications- not the actual marriage record. I still have to translate this

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
Wow, he was 70 years old? Maria was only 31. Why would she marry someone so old? Was that common back then?maestra36 wrote:first image is the extract of the death record of Francesco Belmonte, husband of Maria Filippo. Re: 3 more pages of processetti
the record does say settanta for his age, as far as I can tell. If you count up six lines from the bottom, it is the first word on that line
Re: 3 more pages of processetti
I don't doubt what you see - I am just surprised she would marry someone that is 40 years older than she is.maestra36 wrote:the record does say settanta for his age, as far as I can tell. If you count up six lines from the bottom, it is the first word on that line

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
It is a certificate of the following publications (normally there was a first and second publication and then a certificate of the following publications which made reference to the first two). These were like the banns of marriage to insure that there were no impediments to the upcoming marriage-
the certificate certifies that on Sunday the first of the month of Sept 1872, it was published on the door of this town hall the matrimony that was intended to be contracted between the widower Francesco Laraia, age 34, a peasant/farmer living in Acettura son of deceased Giuseppe and Rosa Canuso) and the widow, Maria Felicia Filippo, age 32 (?), a peasant farmer, living in Accettura, daughter of deceased Domenico and Rosa Lacovara, contadini living in Acceturra.

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
So does this suggest that Rosa Lacovara is still alive or are both Maria's parents deceased too?
Also, this does not list the date of marriage? How would I go about getting the actual marriage record?
Thanks, A.

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
Rosa Lacovara. Maria's mother, was still alive. Both parents of the groom were deceased.
With the marriage processetti, you should have a copy of the "solemn promise" and with that you should have the actual marriage date. Do you have that record?
normally at the bottom of the solemn promise there will be the information about the church marriage and date

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
No. But when I came home from FHC and looked at what I had and started to upload, I noticed that I copied 2 records twice. So... it probably was included and I copied the wrong screen. I will go back next week and check. But this would have been in the middle of the file, I think, not at the end. The last page was that one that was an announcement.maestra36 wrote:Rosa Lacovara. Re: 3 more pages of processetti
the various records may not have been in order on the microfilm.
the date that appears on the bottom of the certificate of the following publications-which is Sept 12, 1872, is probably the actual marriage date. The first publication would have been on Sunday the 1st. The second publication on the 8th, also a Sunday, and the marriage a few days later.

Re: 3 more pages of processetti
Oh wait...there was another record that I didn't post yet. It was the first one and it had both their names listed and looked like an intro. type page. Maybe that is the solemn promise. I will upload that in a few minutes.
Thanks. A.
