I need help translating and deciphering the handwriting on the birth record of my great-great grandfather, Vincenzo Pierorazio. He was born in the town of Palena in the province of Chieti. His parents are Giuseppe Pierorazio and Sabia Chiaverini. What other information is on this record?

Re: Help with 1881 birth record
Vincenzo Salvatore Pierorazio was born at 7:00pm on July 15th 1881, in the hose situated at #13, Via di Napoli, Polena. His parents are Giuseppe Pierorazio and Sabia Chiaverini both farmers.
Since the father was out of town, the registration at the Ufficio di Stato Civile was made by the midwife Maria Giuseppa Carozza, aged 60, on July 17th, 1881.
No parents' ages indicated...

Re: Help with 1881 birth record
Thanks a lot! Strange that his birth date is over a year after the one on his death certificate.
I have a few more if anyone has time:
The first one is a death record for Michelangelo Pierorazio, who I believe is the paternal grandfather of Vincenzo.

The second is Vincenzo's sister, Maria Giustina.

The third is the death record of a relative, Vincenzo Chiaverini.
(This one is on two separate pages which I edited together.)

Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with 1881 birth record
Death certificates are generally very accurate as to date of death and reasonably accurate as to cause of death (that is, the cause as it was determined, not necessarily the true cause). It's all downhill from there.adifresco wrote: Thanks a lot! Strange that his birth date is over a year after the one on his death certificate.
Most of the information on a death certificate was provided by a grieving next-of-kin: typically an eldest child or spouse of the deceased. Birth dates are often incorrect by days or years, middle names may or may not be present and may or may not be correct. Given names may or may not be an anglicized version of (for our purposes) an Italian name (Giuseppe/Joseph, Maria/Mary, and so on), and spelling of surname may be the true name, the name as was used by the deceased in life, or a corruption of either. Names of the deceased's parents are highly suspect as well, especially the mother's maiden surname.
Truly, death certificates and censuses are amongst the least reliable of all genealogical documents.
