Possible census

Postby chickenwoman » 05 May 2011, 16:58

Would you be able to tell me if this document is considered to be a census? It states, Stato delle Anime on the film description. I am concerned with Maria Sanfilippo. I don't understand what is after each child's name. Your help would be appreciated.

Status animarum = Stati delle anime
Yes it was a sort of census made by catholic priests each year
Description in italian here:
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Status_Animarum

Maria is ved(ov)a di [Nelo?]

After each child name you can read inf.te, which is an abbreviation for infante = little child

After Agnese, f.e., you can read fig(li)a inf(an)te
