Aulicino, Tescione marriage-a foundling?
Aulicino, Tescione marriage-a foundling?
While seeking these 2g grandparents, I have found 7 of their children's birth acts and their marriage document. Scipione's parents are always listed as "stato". What assumptions can I safely make regarding his parentage, since he was provided with a fairly common name, not a fictitious one. Was one of his parents likely named Aulicino?
Second, is Angela Tescione's age 29? I have never seen ventinove spelled that way.
Thank you
Jim

Re: Aulicino, Tescione marriage-a foundling?
Scipione (given) Aulicino (surname) is son "dello Stato", son of the State (Government)
Angela's age is "venti minore", 20 underage.

O.K. I'm embarrassed about "minore".
But, I am still a bit confused about a son of the state. Do you think his parents gave him up, died, or something else?
Does it mean he was born with the surname Aulicino?
What am I likely to find on his birth act?
I have never had one of these, so I am trying to see if I will be able to trace this grandparent any further back.
Thank you

Re: Aulicino, Tescione marriage-a foundling?
I do not have an answer but I guess he was a foundling. It is the first time that I see somoene referred to as "figlio dello stato". "Domiciled since his childhood in Strada Sant'Erasmo" is also uncommon.oilman19 wrote:O.K. I'm embarrassed about "minore".

I suggest you try to find his birth act and you will have most of he answers.
Re: Aulicino, Tescione marriage-a foundling?
I believe you are right. I won't have any answers until I find the birth act.
I didn't decipher anything on page 2 that would give me a clue to his past either.
Thank you for your help.

the second page has the list of document presented:
-Birth act of the groom
-birth act of the bride
-Notification made in the town hall that had no opposition
and the name of the 4 witnesses to the marriage promise, who are not the 2 witnesses to the religious marriage.
