Translation Request - 3 Fierro Birth Records

Post by TriciaFierro »

Hello,

I recieved the birth records for Pompilio and Margherita Fierro's 3 Italy born children, Maria, Nicholas (American name) and Philip (American name). I am requesting a translation of each please. I am most curious to know if there are any notations on Maria's birth record because I believe it to be in 1902 but her parents marriage record that I received and had translated here yesterday was from 1905. It appears to me that it's the same parents so I thought it odd that they had a child out of wedlock back then, although maybe I'm mistaken.
Thank you for your help!

Hi Tricia :-)

Felice was born 30 of August 1908 at 9 AM (record dated 2 September)

Nicola was born 16th of August 1905 (recorded on 20 August)

Maria was born 28 June 1902 (recorded 29 June)

As for Maria's birth...
They may have been married in the Church prior to her birth :-)
So NOT "out of wedlock"

Thank you, Tessa! :)

Cool fact, the patron saint of Montecalvo Irpino is Saint Felice and they have a traditional religious feast every August 30th so to see that my great uncle Felice was born on that day is really neat and probably why he was named as such! :)

And I did read that they often had a church service and a civil service and I assumed the civil was the one recorded. thanks for the clarification. Take care!
