Birth Record Translation

Postby autumn4680 » 27 Jun 2011, 20:12

Hi Everyone!

Hoping you can help translate a new birth record for me. I'm so excited to have found it! I recognized enough words to connect it to my ancestor and would love your help figuring out the rest. Please see image shack link below. The record on the page is for Masini, Raffaele Biagio which starts on the bottom left and continues onto the upper right.

Thanks so much!

Hello Michelle !

This is the birth record (#23) of Raffaele Biagio Masini

On 11 February 1894 at 11:30 AM at the town hall, before the official of the vital records in Marsico, Basilicata, appeared Nicola Augusto Francesco Masini, 44, peasant farmer residing in Marsico, to declare that at 5 AM on the 8th of the current month at the house at Via Santa Caterina #10, to Rosaria Francesca Nasca, peasant farmer, age 42, his legitimate wife - living with him, was born a male child whom he did not present to me, and to whom was given the name Raffaele Biagio.
Witnesses to this act (the recording of the birth) were Raffaele Fiore son of deceased Donato, 30, peasant farmer, and Gianmario(sp?) Ozzato son of Angelo, 26, peasant farmer.
The father explained to the official that he did not present the child because of the cold climate, but verified that this was the truth.
The official then read the act to all present and signed the document.
