Need Translation for a Couple Documents

Postby krombie19 » 02 Jul 2011, 18:21

I am working on the genealogy for my wife's family. I have a couple documents that I can not read the Italian cursive. If anyone could help me with translating these it would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the links

The first image is quite poor :(

Not able to read the surname of Maria Carmella...
Under her name in the margin is the notation of her marriage on 15 Nov. 1896 to Paolo Bello/Belli.

Record is dated 23 August 1875 at 10:?? AM
Before the official at the town hall appeared Gennaro (can't read his surname), age 43 or 46, laborer, to declare that at 3:27 PM on the 22nd of the current month, to Angela di Narena(sp?) his wife, peasant farmer, living with him, was born a female child, who he presented to the official and to whom they gave the name Maria Carmella...

Best I could do with the quality of the image/document :-)

Second image is the birth record of Paolo Bello

Record is dated 31 January 1876 at 9:40 AM at the town hall.
Birth occurred on 30 January 1876 at 2:20 AM at the house at Strada San Giovanni #20
Father is Giuseppe Bello, 35, laborer
Mother is Maria Pascale(not really sure of this spelling) who was not his wife, (could be that they were married in the church but not by civil officials), a peasant farmer living in this town.

The third image has two sides -

Left side -
An annotation to the birth record for the upcoming marriage
Birth #23 in 1876 and birth #142 in 1875
Stating that Paolo Bello on 15 November 1896 celebrated marriage with Maria Carmella Cantillo(sp?) in the town of Montella
Record is dated 23 September 1897
Seen and approved as annotation (entered into the record)
on 11 October 1897

Right side
Looks like it states that the record was transmitted to the town of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi (?), and was signed by the official ...dated May 19 1954

Thanks so much for your help, any ideas what I can do to clean up the first image? Also do you know of any links or information out there so I can attempt to read the documents?

Here is an excellent online resource for reading Italian records...

You might also consider purchasing one or both of the following books:

Italian Genealogical Records by Trafford Cole
A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering your Italian Ancestors by Lynn Nelson
