OCR

Postby krombie19 » 04 Jul 2011, 22:53

I am doing research for my wife's genealogy and am interested in some OCR or ICR software. Does anyone know of a good program for Italian handwriting? Most of the handwriting is pre-1900.

.

Don't even think about it.

Modern, computer-generated or typeset text, sure - there are some pretty good tools out there.

But, handwritten script? Old handwritten script? I would be shocked if you ever found an app that could handle that with better than 10% accuracy.
