oh never mind, i figured out who the person was. it was anna granata...indexed as gramata, but that name with the "M" does not exist in italy. what was her husband's name? looks like giuseppe buccella but i don't believe i'm related to this person. i can't find a census record for these people. i would like to know who giuseppe's father was to see if i can make a connection.

i believe that last name is actually biasella. i can see both granata and biasella names in this article. at least that's what i think it says. i don't think it's the same person though. it looks like this anna person was a biasella marrying a granata.

3rd one down

here's the manifest for anna granata. husband's name was giuseppe, and if you look closer it looks like biasella. funny thing is, i'm curious about these two people, but the person above her, francesca colicchio is actually my great grandmother!!

she was from castel di sangro and from what i can see on the map of italy, that name biasella is common around that part of abruzzi. i was kind of hoping that it wasn't giuseppe buccella because for a second there i thought i researched a totally different family. the giuseppa or giuseppe buccelle that i found, i believe he or she died before the 1900's. this is dated in 1906. i say he or she because, the person is indexed as a female but the name on the actual manifest looks like giuseppE.

For what it's worth... both women list "Castel di S*" as their last place of RESIDENCE, but Anna lists "Lau????" as her PLACE OF BIRTH...
They are close in age...
One leaves father "Angelo"
The other leaves father "Francesco"
But no town is mentioned with fathers' names... are we to assume "Castel Di S*"?

Giuseppe's surname surely LOOKS like "Biasella" :?

How far is New Castle from Ellwood?
