Could someone translate this FB message for me?

Postby lemonade2122 » 18 Apr 2012, 17:00

I posted a message on the group page for my ancestral hometown and received the following answer. I tried the online translators, but they were very choppy and unclear. Could someone translate this for me so that I can reply to it?

Thank you!
Jennifer

This is my translation:
Hi Jennifer, my name is Giuseppe, I grew up in San Marco in Via Vitelli, as far your request is concerned I can ensure you that your grandfather Alfonso really lived in Via Vitelli. As soon as I saw your appeal I made some phone calls and I was able to trace back your grandfather, he had a cousin named Antonietta CUOZZO, a very well-mannered young lady that I had the opportunity to meet personally. Your grandfather was well known. It will be a pleasure to help you directly and through this group to find any documentation of possible relatives still alive. A hug from Italy

Would you mind helping with another post? Someone else had information for me as well. Also, what resources would you recommend for learning Italian?? Here is the post:

Mi chiamo laurenza alessandro e ho 75 anni ,vivo a guidonia montecelio -roma. Saluti cjaoii

Here you are:
My name is Alessandro Laurenza and I am 75 year old. Dear Jennifer knopf tutwler I'm telling you all I know about Alfonso Sorbo. His whole family left for America but he was not allowed to pass because he had some problems with the eyes and since then he gave signs of mental diseases. He never married and lived in a house half in ruins. When he needed money he used to build pieces of woodwork. Some times he got drunk and then he went to the town square to externalize his thoughts. Other times he was going to religious places with cross built by himself on his shoulders. In any case he was friend of my father who died in war. I am happy to have given you some info about your relative who was in any case a pleasant person. Greetings.
