Help with Names Please

Postby stevez » 11 May 2012, 04:01

I found this record of a relative, Silvio Brunetti, but it appears that his father's name is Agnese Presi. Why would his father's surname be different? I think it also says that the mother is Maria Gattiani, the daughter of Giovanni Brunetti, which is followed by another name. Can someone tell me if I am reading this correctly and why the names of the father and the father of the mother don't seem right?

Thanks.

I translated this record at this thread
topic25136.html

The name Agnese Presi is that of the midwife who declared the birth at the town office, and most likely assisted with the birth.

Giovanni Brunetti is the father.
Mother is Maria Gianetti "moglie di Giovanni Brunett" - WIFE of Giovanni Brunetti

Also, we've always known Silvio's parents to be Pompeo Brunetti and Annunziata Massoti. No one ever mentioned anything about Silvio not being their biological son.

Are you sure this is THE Silvio Brunetti that is your ancestor. :?

Within comunes you will find MANY with the same names.

Have you looked for other birth records for a Silvio Brunetti? Maybe with a father Pompeo?

Can we help?

OK, thank you. I thought Agnese was a female name. That had me confused.

It must be the same Silvio Brunetti because the birth date on this record and the birth date we always knew his to be are exactly the same. The commune is also the same as the other children in the family. I will have to ask the only living nephew of Silvio if he knows anything about this.

Yes, they were the only Brunetti family who lived there and Silvio is buried there. Maybe he never was actually a member of that family.
