My great-great-greatgrandparents are Francesco Matufu and Carmela Lanaia. I found this death record of a Marianna Matufu. With translation, I may be able to see if this is a relation to my family. Thank you.
It is hoped that the research I am doing helps to discover, preserve and celebrate my family history.
Do you think Carmela Laria could be my Carmela Lanaia? I have seen Carmela Laria come up in some of my answered posts.
In this translation of Francesco Matufù Death Record at this post... topic25397.html it appears that they are two different people
Francesco was 70 years old when he died. He was the son of deceased Antonino and what appears to be deceased Carmela Laria. He is also listed as the husband (marito) of Carmela Lauria. Carmelo Cappadona, a farmer of age 40, was one of the two people who came to declare the death. No relationship is given... Date of death was 22 December 1881.
I just found this marriage record for Marianna Matafu dated 1862. It has her married to Vincenzo Giovenco. However, on her death record it is noted that she was the widow of Giovanni Pelleriti (sp?) of which I cannot find a marriage record.
I understand, and I really can't find an explanation. The one thing I can think is there is an error in her death record. I also thought she might have married Vincenzo first, and Giovanni then, but I couldn't find any death act for any of them. I also want to add that Marianna's mother's surname seems to be Lauria.
