Baptism record help

Postby JOHN08 » 30 Jul 2012, 07:39

What are the names of the godparents for Angela Francesco Tolino, daughter of Alfonso and Carmela Romano? The date of the baptism is 4th of December 1865.

What is the 1886 date at the end of the record?

How soon did the parents baptize the baby in the 1800's?

Thanks for your help.

John

Date of birth...5th December.
Baptised the day after birth. It was common to baptise the baby the same day or next day unless the child was in danger of dying then the baptism would be done by the midwife.
The godparents are not named. Just the midwife is named.
I assume you got this record from the 'processetti'. It is a copy of the original baptism probably provided for the civil marriage in 1886.
