birth record #636 - Stefania Purcaro

the record begins bottom left entry and continues on top right.

I read the mother's name as Carolina Cavotta, however, the father's name (I think is Francesco Purcaro) but it is very confusing....

i think the father is Francesco, orefico, not sure what it says after 'lives in Ariano', age ???
i think the grandfather is Angelo.

any thoughts?
thanks,
donna

I can understand why you are confused. I believe there is a correction in the record as (Donna) Carolina Cavotta was referred to as the daughter of (Don) Francesco Purcaro, the son of Don Angelo, but then it states that it should read that she was the wife of Don Francesco. At least that is what I am understanding from the record. I do not see ages given for either Carolina or Francesco. The age of 52 which you see on the left side is the age of the midwife who presented the infant at the town hall and stated what name the baby was given. The father was absent (doesn't specifically say he was away from the town) but he was not present to make the presentation of the infant, so the midwife did it in his place.

After "lives in Ariano" it says "nella casa di loro abitazione in questo comune Parocchia Cattedrale"
