Military Service Document & Draft

Post by Josie07M11 »

Hi,

I was fortunate enough to receive some military documents from Messina for my great grandfather Paolo Sulfaro. I am able to translate everything except these two pieces. If anybody could help me that would be amazing. I'm ever so thankful for all the help I receive on this forum. My research would not be as accomplished without it.

Thanks in advance,

Josephine

It states he was first exempted from military service in 1902 because of Thoracic inadequacy and oligemia. In 1916, October 23rd he was examined again, and reported fit, and enlisted. He arrived at the front on February 9th, 1917, and was missing since May 22nd, 1917.
Finally, he was officially declared missing on january 28th, 1921.

30 March 1916 and left free for unlimited time
29/10/1916
Called to arms and arrived
3/11/1916
Present in the depot of 85 rgt infantry
9/12/1917
Arrived to [a not identified] place in war condition
(same date)
Moved to 248 rgt infantry
22/5/1917
Displaced in a [not identified] battle [It cannot be Caporetto, which happened in october-november 1917]
28/1/1921
Declared as untraceable
