any thoughts on Ambrosio's occupation? it looks something like letterario (man of letters?) and what would the translation of that be?

thanks,

You have the occupation spelled correctly. It has to do with the literary profession, but I can't find anything specific about it. So I don't know if he was a writer of books or what his actual occupation was. I'm still searching.

interesting. in later birth records, he is shown as a proprietario. these earlier records i am just going through, and this is the first reference to a literary connection.

thanks for your efforts.

p.s. i've looked at marriage banns for altavilla irpino 1866-1893 and none of your names show.
